Evidence and critical reading

Reported scientific and empirical uses

Cognition and neurology

Described for cognition and synaptogenesis; superiority-to-BDNF claims are extrapolations.

Human evidence

No human clinical benefit established here.

Preclinical evidence

Dihexa is an experimental peptidomimetic studied in laboratory and animal models. A key 2014 HGF/c-Met mechanism paper was retracted in 2025; the separate 2013 discovery study carries a 2021 notice of concern. Other animal studies report model-dependent findings, including benefits in some memory tasks and a negative result in a rat model of Huntington-like disease. Additional preclinical work supports investigation of HGF/MET involvement, but the sources reviewed do not establish cognitive benefit, safety, or a validated dosing regimen in people. Laboratory potency comparisons must not be presented as proof of clinical superiority over BDNF. Scientific/expert review pending.

Critical reading and limitations

Sun et al. (2021; PMID34827486) reported positive APP/PS1 mouse findings, but methods describe both intragastric and intraperitoneal routes and lack an inhibitor-only control; route reporting is unresolved. Wells et al. (2024; PMID38489193) reported a negative Huntington-like toxin rat-model result; only abstract/bibliography were reviewed. Martino et al. (first online November 20, 2025; PMID42825082) reported working-memory benefits after repeated mild TBI with intracerebroventricular rat administration. Antagonist and cell assays support further HGF/MET investigation, not human or oral-product validation. The 2025 retraction notice for the 2014 paper identifies data falsification/fabrication in specified figures/erratum after a university investigation. This does not retract all Dihexa research or conclusively disprove HGF/MET involvement. No raw-data reanalysis or full-supplement appraisal is claimed.

Evidence applies to the exact molecule, formulation, route, population and endpoint studied. Supplier identity, purity and clinical equivalence are unverified.

Source-specific regimens

Descriptive source observations, not individual recommendations.

Regulatory product labeling

Listed regimens preserve source/context. An empty layer means no regimen attributable to this identity was verified in this review; it does not prove universal absence of data.

Human-study exposure

NOT A RECOMMENDATION.Each amount is attributed to the source identified for that entry: regulatory product labeling, human research, or community and practice sources. These source categories have different evidentiary roles. They are not medical advice, not a protocol, not a recommended or safe dose, and not evidence that it works. Do not use them to start, change or stop any treatment. Talk to a qualified healthcare professional.

Regulation and safety

Jurisdiction-specific regulatory context

Jurisdiction-specific approval not verified in this card; do not infer global nonapproval.

Adverse effects and unknowns

Human toxicity and interactions remain unknown; growth signaling concern is a hypothesis, not a measured cancer rate.

Clinical efficacy and sufficient human safety were not verified; handbook dosing does not resolve the gap.

Contraindications

See supported safety statements and exact product label; a complete contraindication set has not been established for this catalog material.

A complete list must match the exact authorized product. For experimental materials without verified human labeling, a complete contraindication set is not established here. No list does not mean safety.

Interactions

Only explicitly cited interactions may be asserted; unstudied combinations remain unknown, not interaction-free.

Separate documented interaction, pharmacologic plausibility and unknown interaction. Absence of a blend trial does not establish compatibility.
