When someone says it worked

Respect the experience and examine what could explain it.

Start with the observation

A report of less pain, better sleep or increased energy is an observation worth describing precisely. Ask when it began, how it was measured and whether follow-up was comparable. Do not replace the person’s report with an invented mechanism. A symptom improvement also does not automatically demonstrate tissue regeneration or disease reversal.

Draw the timeline

Training, rehabilitation, diet, sleep, medicines and several products may change together. Natural recovery, measurement variation and expectations can also affect a before-and-after report. A timeline preserves those competing explanations. It improves documentation without creating the missing comparison group.

Preserve unsuccessful experiences

A useful observational program must capture no change, worsening, discontinuation and missing follow-up as well as improvement. A collection of selected success stories has no reliable denominator. Even a well-run observational study requires analysis suited to confounding and measurement limits before causal conclusions are attempted.
